Revolution

Enjoying the all the pre-election stuff and waiting for a revolution. It is great to be an American.

In Memory of Seau Tawney 1991-2008

On Wed. Sept 24 Tracey's 17 year old dog, Seau, became very ill. I went outside and saw that he was unable to walk. He was whinning and I called Tracey and the vet. This was about 7 pm. Tracey stayed out in the dog pen and rubbed and comforted Seau all through the night. If Tracey came inside he would whine so he braved the cold and stayed up all night talking to his friend of many years. Thursday morning we headed to the vet at 6:30 am with Tracey riding in the bed of the truck with Seau. We both cried alot. He carried Seau in to the vet. At this time the dog was lethargic and we knew what had to be done. We had to put him to sleep. We could not take the suffering. My husband said this was the second hardest thing he had to do. The first was to lose his mom. It was a very sad day for our family. But the vet said "he had 17 good years". He helped Tracey carry the dog back to the truck. Tracey made a nice coffin for Seau and put a note to him from the family. He buried him by his cat that passed away a few years ago. That evening Tracey, Ben and I had a "celebration of life" service. We said a prayer and each one of us said a few things about Seau. It is hard to look down there and see he is gone. I hate the pain my husband feels. If there was a dog heaven I am sure Seau would be running on streets of gold.
