Here we go

A friend from work and myself are heading to the EWomen Conference at Liberty University today!!!! Pray for traveling mercies!!!!

Last post for today!!!

Today Tracey and I went to our first Financial Peace Univeristy class. We were really excited about it. We started the week watching Joyce Meyer and what do you think she talked about?? Being debt free and she even mentioned FPU. I told Tracey that was a sign that we were moving in the right direction. We even listened to Ed Young and he was talking about the "They" in the Bible. He said if the people around you are not showing Christ love and being encouraging to you then you need to get away from them. He said the they you want to be around are the one's who have the HE in tHEy capitalized. These "tHEy's' have Christ in the center and that you should surround yourself with these people. I shared this with my friends and they were like WOW!!!

Anyway we loved the first FPU class and there were about 35 poeple there. We have already started on our budget and are getting started on our emergency fund. I will keep you updated on our progress. Please pray for us!!

Blue Demon

Yesterday Ben's cross country team had their home meet. Of course I forgot the camera and have only one picture I took with the cell phone. It was a great day. Tropical Storm Hannah had moved on and all the teams got there safe and sound. Ben's coach said this is the largest the meet has been in 18 years. The were over 600 kids running and everything went great. I was on water duty and filled at least 700 cups of water.

Abingdon, VA

Since we were going thru Abingdon, Va to the cross country meet, Tracey and I decided that on the way back we would visit one of our favorite VA sites. This first piture here is The Barter Theatre. Of course it's name comes from how poeple used to pay to get in. The would barter what they had chicken, veggies, ect in exchange for wathing a play. We went a few years back and absolutely loved it. In a few weeks Ben has a meet in Bristol Tn and we may see a show after the meet.









This picture is of the Martha Washington Inn. It was built in 1832. History indicates that is has been used by a Revolutionary War general as his family's residence, a college, a Civil War hosptial, and an Inn. It is beautiful!!!

1st Cross Country Meet in 2008

I am behind on my posts, so there may be alot to catch up on. Last Saturday the CHS Cross Country team headed to South Holston Dam in Bristol VA. The trip takes in and out of VA and TN. The left about 5:45 am. We headed out at 7 am for the 2 1/2 Hr. drive. We got there around 9:30. It was already getting hot and I knew it would be a tough race.

All the teams did a great job. A few runners ended up being so dehydrated because of the high temperatures that they ened up being taked by ambulance to Bristol Medical Center. The kids really kept the EMT's on their feet. We were very proud of everyone. The young man with the long hair is my son Ben. Good job Ben!!!
